Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From singing as a little kid to writing songs shortly after, it has always been my way of expressing what words alone cannot. Now, at the age of 44, I find myself embarking on a new chapter—launching a music project that feels deeply personal and profoundly important.

On 15th March 2025, I’ll be performing live at The Fork and Tune, Cwmcarn Hotel, to celebrate the release of my new EP, Take Back The Night. This isn’t just another show; it’s the culmination of years of creativity, vulnerability, and growth.

Why This Event Matters

I’ll be honest: starting a new music project at my age feels strange. With two kids of my own involved in their own musical journeys, I sometimes wonder if I should focus all my energy on supporting them. But I’ve realised it doesn’t have to be either/or—I can do both.

This project isn’t about chasing fame or becoming a global star. It’s about something far more personal. For me, music has always been a creative outlet, a way to process emotions and navigate life’s ups and downs. Since my ADHD diagnosis a few years ago, writing and performing have become even more meaningful. My songs are now more honest and reflective, exploring themes of love, fatherhood, fear, hope, and self-discovery.

This event might be the last live show I ever do—or it might be the first of many more to come. Either way, I’ve poured my heart and soul into it, treating it as if it could be my last. Every detail, every note, and every moment of this night has been carefully thought through.

The Songs and Their Stories

The tracks on Take Back The Night are deeply personal. The title track is about reclaiming what fear has stolen and finding beauty in the darkness. Other songs touch on living with ADHD, navigating parenthood, the highs and lows of love, and finding your place in a chaotic world. These are songs that bear my soul, and performing them live is both exhilarating and terrifying.

The Venue: A Special Place

The Fork and Tune is more than just a venue—it’s a hub of community and creativity. Its owners, Vinny and Anja, have worked tirelessly to support grassroots music in the South Wales Valleys, creating a space that feels alive with energy and possibility.

But the venue’s history adds another layer of significance. The road it stands on was part of the route taken by the Chartists in November 1839 during their march to demand political freedoms. That night ended in tragedy, but it also became a pivotal moment in Welsh history. I want to honour their courage and spirit, which still resonates today. In fact, I’ve written a song inspired by their story, and I’ll be performing it on the night.

A Night to Remember

Joining me for this special evening is my friend Aeneas, whose emotive songs and powerful vocals will captivate you. I’m so proud to have him as part of this event, and I promise you won’t want to miss his performance.

Whether you join us in person or online, this night is about connection. It’s about celebrating music, creativity, and the people who make it all worthwhile—you.

Why I’m Inviting You

I’m reaching out to my friends, family, and long-time supporters because your presence means the world to me. Singing to an empty room is no fun, but more than that, having an audience to share this journey with is what makes it all worthwhile.

This event is my way of sharing my story with you—my highs, my lows, my hopes, and my heart. So please, come and join me on 15th March, whether in person or online, and let’s create a night to remember together.
